you can never be too sure who is passing in and out of london. the ports and docks are always quite busy, bringing in shipped goods as well as new passengers. most of these new settlers are merely looking for something interesting in london but not all prove to be as they appear.
some fifteen or so years ago, a foolish barber and his beautiful wife found fleet street their home. successful in his work, benjamin barker was quite content with his beautiful lucy and wondrous daughter, johanna. however, there could be no peace in paradise what with the greedy eyes of judge turpin laid upon the most beautiful woman in all of london.
fifteen grueling years have passed and benjamin barker has long since been gone. a battered soul, sweeney todd, decides to dock here in london and wander across mrs. lovett's meat shop. the tales of benjamin barker and lucy have long since passed away and johanna has been deemed the daughter of the unjust judge turpin.
whispers of gossip and grunts of disapproval have been the general conversation of the two unlikely fleet street pair these days. mrs. lovett suddenly seems to have a burst of business as does this mysterious barber. he is good but almost too good for such a newcomer. news spreads quickly from those who have ventured to his barber shop but it seems that some never return.
have people been fleeing london because of turpin's rule? or is there something that lies hidden beneath fleet street?
